  2. Personality test (MMPI-2)
  3. Baseline ultrasound and blood work
  4. Meeting with staff psychologist
  5. Complete physical

Synchronization

 

  1. Begin taking oral contraceptive to match ovulation cycle
  1. Oral contraceptive

Suppression

7-10 days

  1. Class on how to inject medication
  2. Continue oral contraception
  3. Begin Lupron injections
  4. Ultrasound and blood draw
  5. Gonadotropin injections

 

  1. Oral contraceptive
  2. Lupron injections
  3. Gonadotropins (Fertinex, Follistim, Gonal-F)

Stimulation

 

  1. Begin exogenous gonadotropin injections (twice daily)
  2. Ultrasound and blood draws (1-4 day intervals)
  3. Take hCG injection “trigger shot”
  4. Final blood work

 

  1. Exogenous gonadotropin injections
  2. hCG injection “trigger shot”

Retrieval

1 day

  1. Obtain egg using special needle and ultrasound

 

  1. IV sedation
  2. Doxycycline (antibiotic)

Follow Up

 

  1. Final ultrasound and check-+up
