One:
Complete the ovum donor personal history form and return it with a picture of yourself. This takes approximately one hour.

Two: Complete initial blood work and ultrasound testing. This takes about one hour.

Three: Consultation with our team counselor. This takes a few hours.

Four: Medical history, physical examination, and educational meeting with a donor nurse. This takes about four hours.

Five: Matched with a recipient couple. Will be placed on birth control pills for 1-2 months while matching process occurs.

Six: Two hour educational meeting to learn about taking your medications. Then an ultrasound is done about a week later to assess that you are ready to begin fertility medications. This takes about one hour.

Seven: Fertility medications taken over a period of seven to ten days to stimulate multiple eggs to grow. During this time you will come in for thirty minutes every morning between 7 and 9 a.m. for blood work and an ultrasound.

Eight: Retrieval of stimulated eggs requires a minor procedure and about a four hour stay in the surgery center followed by a day or a few days of resting at home.

Nine: Follow-up ultrasound after next menstrual period to make sure everything has returned to normal. The ultrasound takes about 30 minutes.
